They said the applications would close on the 22 I think and they actually didn't shut down until like 8 am the next day. I have heard of one person getting a fed ex package requesting 501 c3 info. Mine must have got lost in the mail ;) You know if they dont follow the time line I think they should award everyone.

I better check the site again.....

Nothing new here either, I must not be very patient, since I have carpel tunnel syndrome from checking the website all the time. Good luck to everyone that applied.

Thanks all ...we were awarded to restore our old truck...We already sent her out to have the engine overhauled....our members are doing the majority of the work and we are having a big Firefighter Community Day the end of June to raise additional funds needed....thanks to Hamburger Helper we now are up to almost $10,000 in the account to restore the truck. We'll post a picture once it's complete.

Congrats!!!

I just am upset that we have applied twice for money to get pagers and they seem to keep funding refurbs on parade trucks. Nothing against you all. You applied and were awarded. Just aggrivating that we have a real legit need and can't get the money.

Oh well. We will keep trying!!!!

Why haven't you used AFG? That's a slam dunk for them?

Good job! We expect to see pictures when complete. Pmed, I'm in the same boat with us. All I was asking for was 8k to help pay off our recently acquired reserve engine as we have lost a considerable amount of our budget this year and can only do fundraising for paying it off and getting new tires.

This however could all go on the wayside if AFG is nice to us this year.

Kurt,

Was going to aske for them along with our Turnout Gear this year but we need TO so bad I didn't want to hurt our chances. I am planning on adding it to our SCBA next year just like I did with my previous one with another dept. if something doesn't come through before then.

Who knows what they will do? It is my understanding that Hamburger Helper and General Mills are sponsoring my favorite NASCAR driver next year, Clint Bowyer from Richard Childress Racing so maybe a new program will be forthcoming with renewed exposure. Hard to say at this point.
