Anyone know of a website where I can find operating temperatures for detroits. I have googled without luck, my engine runs 220-230 on a regular basis. I'm trying to find out if this is normal. Thanks

I do not know of a website with this information, unless it would be Detroit Diesel's site. I do remember that the engine coolant temperatures increased with each generation of emission controls. I believe that Detroit Series 60 engines were set to activate the warning lights and alarms at the following temperatures. DDEC III was set for 215 degrees F; DDEC IV with EGR was set for 221 degrees F; and DDEC V was set for 227 degrees F. I do not have any information on the DDEC VI that is in current production. Also, I am working from memory, but these numbers will be close. Hope this helps.

'Stats are set to open at 195F just like any other modern Engine. How are you determining the 220? I'd check with a Raytek and link to the computer, compare notes.Temp sensors/senders have been known to get "soft" on the 60's. T.C.
