Hey does anybody no of any Depts thats are hiring in N.E. Ohio Or the Akron Area that Hire FF/EMT-B. Trying to get some exp. before i start medic school in Jan. Any Info would be Greatly Appreciated

Don't waste your money on theose job websites. Municipalties are required post notices for civil service positions, you just have to know where to look. For part time, most places just accept applications and hire as needed.

As far as part time goes, I don't know about Akron area but I know most Lake and many Cuyahoga County departments have part time staff.

Im grew up in Parma thats where my parents still live, I live down in Fairlawn now. Im start medic school in Jan. At Akron City Hospital (summa). Ive applied at some places for part time work. Highland Hills and its a 3 step process i guess which im in the third part just waiting on the chiefs interview. Ive called up there a couple times but i dont wanna annoy the chief. Ive been waiting like almost three months for it now. They say there gonna call me every time ive called but i need another job im hurtin for money. I work private ems now, you know how that is. Id rather just get on part time somewhere and bust my *** there making less money.

well the problem your going to run into with part time depts in the area is many of them are going to have residency requirements, since many will use recalls to supplement on duty staffing.

if your in Fairlawn why are you interested in highland hills? I'm not sure their pay rate would be worth that drive.

Fairlawn has part timers, same with Bath, Copley, and Coventry just to name few. Id also try some of the smaller villages outside of Akron too some of them are paid, such as New Franklin.

Yeah there pay isnt so hot, but its exp. Ive tried with copley bath fairlawn but i just gotta get that medic card first. thanks for the help though ill look into some of those other smaller cities surrounding.
