Lafd Hiring Process / Academy

Does anyone have information about the LAFD hiring process? I scored 100 on the oral and have a clean background. How long does it take to get hired? Cutbacks/hiring freeze due to the economy? What is the academy like? I heard the failure rate is 40%. Can you be recycled back in if you fail? Thanks!

I replied back to you on your questions in another post. As for being recycled it typically only happens if you are injured. Yes it is a very tough tower. You need to be in extremely good shape. The majority for the candidates not passing is not being in good shape and having the proper endurance.
