Not sure much on their current hiring state, but do know some about the department itself. Operates from city stations 1-12 and county stations 101-108. All under same department but under a city and county budget. They run Fire/EMS, but no transport. Last time saw averaged about 14,000 runs a year, not sure on number of working fires. Do recall them having a residential requirement, believe have to live in Bibb. Been updating fleet good, with four sharp XT engines delivered last year. Many places seem to be feeding off Atlanta and hitting panic mode with a hiring freeze, so again not sure with current state of economy if Macon is hiring or not.

Don't believe the residency requirements require them to live in Bibb Co. I know several who live in adjancent counties.

Macon Bibb is a good dept. I do not know if they are hiring now. They have had several retire lately and go to other depts. The city of Macon has a web site with some FD imformation on it.
