Hey everybody, I have a quick question. I'm a 23 years old white male that is born and raised in San Francisco (4th generation). For the past 4 years I have been applying to every and any department in California/Nevada. I have taken 20 tests and have been fine tuning my interview skills constantly. I have made it to 4 Chief's orals, but have still not recieved 'the call.' I won't lie it can be a little frusterating from time to time, but without a doubt this is the profession for me so I don't mind. However, I want to increase my chances by any means possible. My qualifications are Bachelors degree, EMT, Firefighter 1 completion, and I'm currently on the waiting list for the SFFD Fire Reserves. In the mean time, I was wondering if anybody knew of any fire departments within the Bay Area that hire people full time from their Reserve/Volunteer FF programs? My dream department is obviously my city (SF), but I will work any where. I've always felt that way. I was asked in an interview once, "What is your dream dept.?" Without thinking I said, "The one that hires me." That was my first interview 4 years ago, and I still feel the same. Any help is appreciated. Thanks everybody
