Anyone have any insight or opinions on the DRCOG recruitment process?

I took the DRCOG exam this last november. I heard the depts hire in the first or third quarters of the year. Parker is not hiring for 2009. You need to have atleast a basic for all of the depts. just a couple of things i have heard

I took the DRCOG back in June and have not heard back at all. I also heard that most of those departments look to first quarter (new year) to hire. I saw some recent posts from people who scored a little higher than I did and they have not heard anything as well.

Testing wise, I think it’s a good one because of the number of departments that use DRCOG. Good luck!

My advice is to be patient. I took the test in Nov 2007, scored over 90, and went to 3 oral boards... 2 in May, 1 in October. I did not send out any letters, departments that were hiring just contact you when they need to. I'm an EMT but had no FF1 at the time. I think a FF1 and/or medic would be a big help, especially for the smaller depts. Good luck.
