Recently moved out of nevada to california to go back to school and im having a hard time finding a College to prep myself for forestry,Ive been looking at some colleges in the L.A area and they dont have a wildland program.

If anyone knows of a good college in the Los Angeles area that would help me out a bit.. Also what Classes would i need to take that would help me get my RED CARD & Classes that will help out even further during the process..

Thanks for any info that can help me in the long run..

The Forest Service is having a job fair on the 31st in San Fernando. Address is 12371 N. Little Tujunga Canyon Rd. 91342 You can call them at 818 899 1900

You could just get a job with them to get all your red card requirements.

Please, do whatever you can to get as far away from this job fair as you can. You do not want to be part of the circus. They are good at what they do, and that is manage fires. You can see alot, and there are great people that work there, but their higher ups are ridiculous. Go to Ventura Co, Kern Co, or Santa Barbara Co and get a seasonal handcrew job with a county. Better pay, better benifits, better hours, better career move. They'll certify you.

Again, no disrespect to the FS.
