Truck guy it was about two weeks behind but that was for some updates that we made. We also had Minuteman do some extras for us. We have a carnival in the summer as we even own our own merry go round and ferris wheel. we take the profits from that and do things for the dept so that the taxpayers dont have to foot the bill, We had it lettered at the dealer in Mass as well as some equipment mounted there as well. they mounted the radio as well as the fire com. Island you are right. this has been a long project and to see the final product in our house will be nice and I will have a big smile. I will post some pics, tomorrow nite,

With Island we got a chance.Adam's warden seldom lets him out of the village, and probably NEVER to hook up with this band of rag tag motley pirates. Isnt the image in the mirror distorted by the curvature of the windshield glass? And how am I supposed to check my hair if I see a hot chick?

The windshield does not curve very much on the velocity at all, so There is not any noticeable if at all. They have a add on mirror for you Buff that swings down from the sun visor to fix the dew!!

PS I like the look of the front bumper. That will certainly get the tourists attention on 302.

I hadda drive an E-Wont once upon a time with the bus-style mirrors....The curve in the windshield distorted images, drove me insane, especially when I had to back into quarters.

TC- I have to make sure the flat top has razor-sharp edges at all times!

Real fire ENGINES hold 500 gallons. With our low hosebeds we are able to skid the line quicker and extinguish the fire before using a hydrant. Only wimps need 500 more!

Obviously you are referring to rural depts. with no hydrants available, right? I don't think the guys [gals] in communities with hydrants, appreciate being referred to as wimps. Many of them have never seen a real, live, honest-to-goodness...tanker, [except in ad photos for vol/rural equipment], where 500 [not 1000] tanks are the norm on their engs.

When the nearest hydrant is 15 miles away , You had better bring all you need with you. Don't walk into a gunfight armed with a knife!

Besides I knew it would wind buff up.
We always get a good laugh when a city truck gets tasked with setting up a draft and water shuttle with a rural hitch.

If I can't get him to Harrisburg, what do you think of the chances of getting him to MAINE? Mebbe we can use those tickets in Pa. T.c.

I use my personal days from work wisely- important things like:

-June 19, in preparation for the Antique Truck Club of America's annual Truck Show in Macungie, Pa. over 500 antique trucks (heavy stuff, not pickups mind you) where the F.W.D. has always been the ONLY F.W.D. there for as long as I have been attending. I take the Friday off, run the truck through the truck wash, then wax and polish her up real nice, then drive her to Macungie and get a good spot! You guys need to come to Macungie if you have never been...You can even get a tour of the Mack Macungie Assembly Plant......Then we have:

-July 10, in preparation for the Pennsylvania Pump Primers annual Muster held on the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg, Pa- Almost one hundred antiques shooting water at the fish........And another fifty or so on static display.....

-Then "She who must be obeyed" gets me for a week for the family vacation in the Outer Banks of NC......

Screw Harrisburg....New trucks all look the same. Besides the damn blue lights blind you so bad you cant see a damn thing. I save my days off for the old trucks. They have heart and soul that these damn fangled new things don't have.

We're nugget and pasta specialists( my munchkins favorite bait outaside of a cheeseburger)so no issues there. A transportation museum in under two hrs travel, and a mountain to hike if you're inclined. T.C.

Joel, this one's worth some vacation or even a long weekend. But there's so much other stuff to do in Penna. that a week or two of vacation is really the best. You couldn't buff the whole state let alone do flatland tourister stuff in that time.

No it is not as of yet. Still mounting equipment and doing some driver training with it as this is the first custom for this station. The Pierce factory rep will be here later this month to do a pump training. Our friends in Freeport will be taking delivery of a PUC on a quantum chassis within a week or so. Going to try to do some of the training together.
