Hi guys,

My question is rather important for me.

I'd like to know if you know some States in America that would accept to recruit some firefighters from Europe?

I ask this because I saw you must be an US cityzen to be a firefighter (NY state, for example). And it would seem there would be some states where it's not an obligation.
I am a French Firefighter, I do this job since 9 years, my grade is the equivalent of sergeant (I believe... not sure), I am specialist in Alchemy, radioactivity risks and CBRN since 2 years. I am engineer driver too (pumper ladder).

I really think to do my work in the USA would be a great thing to learn more, and I confess I like this country even if I have visited few states.

Thank you all

Well, it certainly sounds like you're more than qualified to work, but I'm willing to bet that citizenship for a civil service job is mandatory in all 50 states.

Without your citizenship, you won't be able to do much here. Every city I've ever even considered applying for requires your social security card or birth certificate proving you're a US citizen.

I think you'd be better off looking into naturalization from this point before trying to get on an American department.

The only possibility I could think of, other than being a citizen, would be a working visa.
