View Full Version : F550 Getting Stuck

We seemed to have fixed the problem with our F550 Brush Truck getting stuck. We have put a 2" suspension lift and a 3" body lift on the cab. Went with 20" wheels and 40" Continental MPT 80 22 ply tires. The truck is a deisel so we increased the horse power and low end torque. I know other people are having this problem. This has worked well for us.

Anyone know where to find off the shelf stuff to accomplish a job like this? We have a 1999 F550 in need of this treatment.

I would venture to say though, that if you take it off road, sooner or later it will get stuck (even a dozer)

That is one of the sweetest looking rigs ive seen yet. Im a big fan of the Ford chassis for brush rigs, even though im not a for man. Does it have a turbo?

If you find shop specializing in off road, they will have various items.... or you can buy the components online.

Yes it has gotten stuck, but only when there was no bottom to grab. And yes our dozer got stuck trying to get it out.

Yes it does. We installed a BullyDog system and increased the horse power by 70hp. This gave us the low end power that we needed.

We got the suspension lift from Precission Tank, a company that builds fertilzer trucks. We had a local shop put the body lift on it.

Yes. It does look like it. But it is a "stationary work platform."

Sounds sorta like when we had a patient that was very drunk and decided to fight my crew. In my report, I put that "we placed the patient prone on the ground".

Good looking rig. Were the lifts in order to make room for the bigger tires, or did you have problems with high-centering it?
