View Full Version : How should Wildland Boots fit.

Hello guys My name is Daniel and I would love a some feedback if possible. Im going to start the Sycuan Golden eagles Hot shots academy In april. I just bought my White's Boots trying to break them in. Now the question is, should the boots fit me a little bigger than my foot size or should it be your exact foot size? I got them a little bit bigger because I was told they had to be bigger because the thermo socks are thick and you want some room in it. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a size 9 and purchased a size 9 1/2

Did you go to a store that sells Whites and have them fit you? I wear Nicks and get them custom fitted. I wear two pairs of socks. Cotton inners and wool/wool blend exterior. My boots were a little bit bigger because of that. Come September, October, November it is nice to be able to wear thick wool socks to keep my toes warm. Make sure you have plenty of time to break your boots in proper before you start. Nothing worse than having white bites on day 1 and having to deal with it for numerous days.

If you get a liner in there and a big pair of socks, you should be fine (Which you should do anyways to avoid blisters). As long you can lace them without slack after they are broken in, you will be good.

What do you mean by a Liner? where can i purchase that? Im sorry if my questions are stupid but im new @ this.

Question 1 : Liner, What is it and where can I get it for My boots?

There's plenty of socks purpose made for this, but a liner is basically a thin, comfortable sock. It should help wick away moisture and reduce friction, both of which prevent blisters. Wear it inside of thicker and more padded boot socks.

Here's what I use. Little spendy, but my feet are my job. They also don't smell as bad.

I didn't mean liner now that I think about it. I meant like an insert (think Dr. Scholls)
