I applied to LAFD in late 2007, passed my oral interview with a 95, but got a letter saying I was not selected because there were more experienced applicants. At that time I was only a volunteer at a local station for 3 months and I didnt even have my EMT yet. Now I have been a volunteer for 1 1/2 years, have my EMT and a firefighter 1 academy under my belt. When I reapply this time, do I need to retake my oral interview over again? I heard your score is good for 2 years. If I dont NEED to retake it, should I anyways so I can tell them about my current experiences and certs and try to get a 100%. Any information would help and be greatly appriciated.

Anything is possible and nothing has to make sence with the LA City hiring process, but candidates in a similar position as you're in have had to start from square one again.

One of the reasons you were not accepted was you can take the LA City test without being an EMT but they will not hire you unless you have your EMT.

You are able to reapply after one year from your interview if you already passed it. I think as long as you do it within two years you can skip the written, but you will need to interview again.
