Anybody else get invite for the 3 mile walk? I just got mine yesterday. They gave me 3 weeks to train for it lol. 3 miles in 45 minutes with a 45lb pack.

I'm sure there will be more than just you there. Mine is in May and I also have a Fire Ground Safety Course I have to take. This is a yearly test and everyone who needs their (Red Card) for us oldsters....Cert's to the line personnel.

Wildland firefighting. There are a couple of agencies you can apply with in the Vegas area. Google the BLM, US Forest service, and Park service. You can search by area for job openings. FYI, though, for the 2009 fire season, you would have most likely had to applied back in 2008.

So if your interested for the 2010 fire season, make sure you acquire about the process around Sept-Dec 2009.
