If somebody doesnt go to college but gets their G.E.D. Are they still able to become a firefigther?

Have you tried asking the department that you are interested in? Because it's different for every department. Obviously you are going to have a very tough time competing with other people who have a lot more...

As stated it depends upon the dept. Most depts require a HS diploma in order to apply, although some may accept equivalent. If you really want to become a FF, I would suggest you get your butt into school and get a degree, don't rely on a GED. In today's world a HS diploma doesn't mean much, let alone a GED.
