I received a letter that stated I scored a rank of 2 in my interview. Its not a 1 but Im hoping its enough to get my foot in the door. I keep checking the mailbox and cringe when I open the door.. Does Cal-Fire generally call or mail when they offer a position? Is it a pretty fast moving process from the time of the offer? More interviews, physical tests etc.? Ill have my 400 hr academy done in June, have EMT-B, First Responder etc.. If anyone out there can give my an insight I would definitely appreciate it! Thanks guys (& gals).

Typically they call and offer the job then mail you info ( what station, health questionnaire, etc)

You'll get a call from a station captain if they offer you a job. If you get a letter stating you didnt get selected, you still can have a chance with late hires or hires when they go to peak staffing. Basically you are eligible for the season. You could get a call literally a week before they want you to report so dont give up.

One more thing, if you get a call, CALL BACK ASAP. A lot of times captains are told they need to provide a name in the next 30 min, 1 hour, etc, and if you don't answer, they'll go to the next name. It could make the difference between getting hired right away or not till next year.
