Of the 200 million cars and light trucks on U.S. roads today, over 82 million have driver airbags and more than 54 million of these also have passenger airbags.
Today, over one million vehicles are manufactured each month for sale in the U.S. equipped with dual front airbag supplemental restraints.
Since their introduction in this country, airbags have inflated in about 3.7 million crashes, prevented many serious injuries and have saved nearly 4,000 lives.
