Going Over

What helmets do you use when you go over the edge on a rescue? Your FF helmet or the Rescue helmet? Which is the best? What are the pros and cons of both?

Bullard A-2 (Advent). Looks like a hard hat. Not a bad helmet. Fire helmets, esp leather..weigh too much and are too high profile for tech rescue work.

I've found the Kiwi (New Zealand) RK3 helmet to be the best for technical rescue. Lightweight, strong, good suspension, options available. Dealer is Rescue Eqt. NW in Washington state.

We use a combination of bullard advent 3, petzel rock helmets, and morning pride rescue helemts.
