We will be ordering a new tiller by the end of this year. I have a question for anybody that has knowledge about the water inlet set up for a tiller with a pre piped waterway. The committee has had a lot of discussion about installing a gate or shut off at the waterway where the inlet is located in the wheel well behind the tractor. Or putting a short length of 5" on the inlet and then connecting a LDH manifold or valve on the ground. There is a LDH inlet on each side of the rig, and leaving a valve installed all the time sticks out beyond the side of the trailer. Some say having no way to shut down leaves you at the mercy of the guy pumping the engine. I am not real crazy about the valve on the ground, when the 5" is charged it may roll or move, hitting a person or the truck its self. What do other departments do? Just connect to the inlet with the supply line, or install a valve of some kind. There is no shut off installed in the aerial waterway by the truck builder. Any comments would be appreciated.
