I don't think that the Federal Signal eQ2-b has been relased for production yet, but should be out this month. The Whelen unit has the humongous speaker I think it's too big.

Hey anyone who is smart will get the new WHELEN EXECUTOR. Whelen will kick any other sirens butt. WHELEN is bigger better and much louder and it draws a lot less amps than the competition. So be smart and get WHELEN.
If you need info on the EXECUTOR just go to WHELEN's Website at WWW.WHELEN.com (http://WWW.WHELEN.com)

Federal Signal and Welen are not the only two out there. Vectra came out with an electronic Q a couple of years ago. Our department purchased one on our new Luverne and it has performed flawlessly, ... and sounds like the Q! It also has all of the other siren sounds as well as audio announcements such as "clear path for emergencey vehicle", "Pleas pull over to the right", as well as others. Not only does it funtion as a siren but also interfaces with the other warnings on the pumper such as low water and foam level, Extend a gun not stowed, door ajar etc and announces it over the siren speaker. check them out at www.vetra.com (http://www.vetra.com)
Good Luck
