Chris, there is a few routes you could take: federal agencies; USDA Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, Bureau of Indian Affairs all hire seasonal firefighters. State agencies that I know of that hire sesonals are: California Dept. of Forestry and Fire Protection (largest multi-purpose FD in the US) Oregon Division of Forestry, Nevada Division of Forestry and Washington Dept. of Natural Resources... i don't have web addresses for all of these except CDF: www.ca.fire.gov

Try searching under "hotshots" or "hotshot crew". We occassionally have openings on our type 1 crew, the Rio Bravo Hotshots. Try it at.. http://www.co.kern.ca.us/fire/rbhs/rbhs.htm
