I read and enjoy your magazine monthly, however, there is one part that I do not care
for. This would be certain companies that you
allow to purchase space for advertising. Namely, Timber Wolf chewing tobacco. Every
month I read articles & features preaching about safety on the incident scene, and then
to come across this ad, it seems rather
hypocritical. How can you stress safety, and
then promote products that cause cancer?
I thought your magazine was supposed to look
out for our safety, and not the enhancement
of your bottom line.
If anyone has any thoughts on this subject, I
would be interested in hearing them.

I agree 100%. I think the last thing Firehouse Magazine should promote is chewing tobacco. This stuff kills and hurts firefighters. Why not place an ad promoting truss building construction? Same difference. They are both killers, however the chewing tobacco is addictive and slowly does its damage.
How about an article about how to stop using this stuff, its dangers, and why not to start in the first place? This is a serious health issue, at least from my view. Quite a few guys in my company use this stuff. I think they all read the magazine. Maybe something from FH would make people think. Thanks.
