Just one question about the April cover of FH.

How many firefighters dose it take to cut the roof of a single family dwelling fire in
LA?

As an Incident Commander on a fire such as the one pictured on the cover of April issue, I should seriously consider if I have a grasp on reality or a propensity to cause harm and death. What possible reason is there to put six firefighters on this roof? All I can say is "not on my watch"!

The April Cover:

Must be a media "Photo Opportunity" as I can think of no good reason a seasoned fireground commander would send 6 (count 'em -6) firefighters onto that roof, and it a house fire, no less. Roasting hot dogs on the flame that's showing at their feet? Now if you would have just added an insert of the time honored "heavy duty stream from a monitor arching through the sky and falling uselessly onto the roof" we could tell for sure what was going on. Makes for great media shots, but I thought Firehouse dealt in reality!
