I read the house fire articles online, particularly those that result in casualties. I do this not for the morbid curiosity, but in the hopes that the articles might describe the circumstances and assist us in preventing similar problems.
The issue is - usually there is not sufficient information in the article to derive this benefit. I realize they're copied from other sources, but perhaps FH could do some investigation and provide this info with the article. (for example - occupants were trapped inside due to misplaced key from double-key lock, this sort of thing)
