Finished reading Branningan's "Building Construction for the Fire Service" (3rd edition) last night. (Light leisure reading, huh?)
I think anyone in the fire service should give this book a look, particularly those involved in code enforcement. It'll quickly shatter the myth that a building built "to code" is a safe building. If you are not in a position to read the whole thing, thumb through the chapters on lightweight steel construction, wood trusses, and structural concrete.
Anyone else out there read it?
Stay safe.
