I am looking for a list of communites ie. counties, cites and towns that require residential sprinklers in all new construction. It is a piece of common sense legislation that should be implimented in all areas of the country and I would like to see it implimented where I live.
Thanks.

Prince George's County, Maryland, has, for a few years now, required residential sprinkler systems in all new construction. I work in a neighboring municipality (City of Gaithersburg, MD), but i am familiar with their requirement. As far as I know, that is the only jurisdiction in Md. that requires sprinkler protection in ALL new residences. Here in Gaithersburg, and the remainder of Montgomery County, MD., we require sprinklers in all new multi-family residential and all new townhomes having more than 2 dwelling units. If you need further information, please feel free to call me at 301-258-6330 to discuss our requirements (I can also give you names and numbers of people to talk to in Prince George's County).
Good Luck!

In Summit County Colorado, for you ski buffs thats Keystone, Breckenridge and Arapahoe Basin area, any home 6000 square foot or larger gets a sprinkler system. We approve it and final inspect it. Be ready to commit staff to this however as to its time consuming. http://www.firehouse.com/interactive/boards/smile.gif
