QUESTION!

Fire Marshals / Inspectors in my department are required to use their personal vehicles for F.D. business. I am wondering how many other departments require their Fire Prevention personnel to drive their personal vehicles for official business. Please let me know how your department operates in this matter. Thanks for the help!

Always use a Department vehicle. Often have to take an engine, but I always use Department wheels. I'm not doing these inspections for my personal benefit...why should I have to use my car?

Our FD lets our fire marshall use a city car, our FFs also use it to go to schools and conferences.
