Dragging

Are there any specific types of barbs/hooks that are better to use than others. We are looking to do some replacing on our dragging equipment and I would like to know what you all think.

I don't think there is a specific type of hook used for this purpose. A major concern would be the strength of the hook. Sharpness isn't a major concern I think. The drag "bar" must be heavy enough to support your specific operation. Training is the key to successful dragging ops.

Most rescuers utilize divers as opposed to dragging, and I agree with this. However there may be specific instances that dragging would be beneficial.

Do you use GPS to assist in your ops? If you do, does it work well? Please advise.
