Clutterers and hoarders

Most of us have seen it; rooms piled high with papers, clothing and household items. In the US it is known as 'cluttering' in the UK it is sometimes called 'hoarding. I am looking for specific research into this aspect of human behaviour and any fatal or near fatal fires where this was a contributory factor.

The "Collyer" brothers of New York are perhaps the most infamous. To date, in NYC, a fire in any residence packed with junk is termed "A Collier's Mansion".
