What instruments are you currently using for detection of chemical/biological agents? What would be the ideal product?

For CHEM AGENTS we use APD 2000
M-256
M-8 PAPER / M-9 TAPE
For BIO we use the smart tickets

Remember all this depends on how deep your pockets are ?

we use the m-256, m-8 and m-9 as well as the tickets. we do have an advantage of having a national gaurd CST. team on our army base.... plus we are a federal dept. we also use a CAM monitor.

What are you using for decon on agents (Nerve and Blister)? M8/M9 will only tell you that decon was used in an area being tested and not if decontamaination has cleaned the area.

Initial companies should set up mass decon
(opposing engines/ladder pipes)
At this time we are still using bleach solutions, as we all know that SBDCOM has done studies and we are looking into them we still belive in keeping it simple.

As far as detecting if the decon was good enough we are using the detectors i mentioned before.

Until we can afford a Hapsite we still depend on signs and symptoms to detrmine the scale of contamination.
