I am doing some research and need to determine the number of female firefighters killed in the line of duty with the data separated into volunteers vs. paid.
Can anyone help point me in the right direction? Thanks!

The NFPA Journal may help. The July Augaust issue every year has info for the preceding year. NFA database may help. or Chief Hank on Supreme Sacrafice may be able to help.

You can also go to this site and search the databases

Try the "Women in the Fire Service, Inc." page...www.wfsi.org. They have a memorial page that lists agencies as well as names. That might help.

Hi susan...
Is that Bethesda Maryland? There is a company in Alexandria or Arlington that does studies on Fire Fighter fatalities. TriData is the name I believe. It is run by a former Deputy Chief from Phoenix AZ (Gordon Routley). They keep all the stats because they are hooked up with the US Fire Administration. Also the National Fire Academy may have stats.
