i have joined the FD here at college (i am the first female firefighter in town, ever), it has been an interesting experience!!!! anyways, currently i am writing a paper on feminist activism in the fire service. bascially, i am researching how females have entered the fire service, any obstacles they have come across, what they have done to overcome these obstacles, and if there are any attempts to recruit more females into the fire service. i am also looking for individual experiences that males or females have had with this topic and any other resources that anyone out there might find helpful. any experiences that you could share would be greatly appreciated. you can email me at whatever711@hotmail.com or post them here. thank you very much and be safe out there. http://www.firehouse.com/interactive/boards/smile.gif
