Equal Fitness Tests

What is your opinion on fitness tests? Should women and men have the same tests?

YES!! They should have the same tests because they are expected to do the same job. If you can't lift the same weight or perform the same tasks you could cost someone their life. Your 225 lb partner with all his gear will not get any lighter for you if you are a female and need to haul him out of a burning building. We have been fighting for equality for a long time, to have seperate tests would set us back to square one, it says we can't do the same job.

I agree whole-heartedly! If you can't haul my husband's 6'2" 225 lb. frame out of danger, then I want another firefighter of any sex hired who can. The job is firefighting and it is life or death. He trains and stays healthy and strong to be able to do the same for you, regardless of your sex.

Mark me in the yes column also. Women want to be treated equal then that includes all aspects. If they can pass the same test as their male counterparts then by all means let them do the same job.
