If you look in Galls, they make a glove that has super small gloves. The fingers in them are actually made shorter than your fingers are, but they give you more dexterity. I don't remember the exact name of the glove, if you look in the catalog you will see them.

To improve your grip strength, roll up a towel into a tight tube and just squeeze it while you're watching TV, etc. A soft rubber ball will work also.

I use the commercial grip strengthener. The ones with the handles with the spring in between. I have an hour + commute to work and get in over 250 reps per hand each way. Makes a big difference in the hose hoist during the CTT (Physical agility test every year.)

ONce agian - I hope you don't mind a guy "invading" the WES forum, but in regard to your problem with small gloves - I am of fairly small build (or at least I used to be before this desk job http://www.firehouse.com/forums/biggrin.gif ) and I also have a hard time finding gloves that fit good & still allow good dexterity.

One thing to remember about gloves is that everybody's "small" isn't the same size small. Try different brands of gloves.

I have gone to using a different brand than what my Squad buys/stocks. This means that I carry around a lot of gloves (2 Pair in belt pouch, 1 Pair in a pocket of each of my uniforms, a pair in every coat, and 2 pair on a pouch on my turn out gear suspenders), but luckily I use the same brand as the local ER so I replace what ever I use from them when I ride in and I only have to pull from my box on the few occasions that we don't ride in.

As far as grip strength - I think the rubber ball is a good one.
