I am in the process of buying new turn out gear, helmet included. One helmet i am looking for is a FDNY style leather helmet. I have a few questions about it though, like who makes them, are they avalible to get and/or buy, and about how much does a new one cost. I would appreaciate any info any one might have on this subject. If you have any inf please post a reply or email me at mightyjoe68@aol.com

Thats an easy one. Cairns and Brother of Clifton, NJ makes the helmet. Its called a New Yorker, model N5A. If you want an older used one, simply call P&R products company or visit their site at www.helmetparts.com (http://www.helmetparts.com) and for $260 you can get a used one. A new one is about $360 +/- depending where u get it.http://www.firehouse.com/interactive/boards/uploads/new_yorker.jpg
