Greetings... I have just purchased a 1976 FMC/BEAN pumper of a Ford C-8000 chassis. It has a Bean 750 gpm 2 stage pump and a model 70 Bean high pressure pump with a Bean "Sno-Foam" system built in. I am in need of information on these Bean systems as in operational manuals, training info, factory manuals etc. I need to know where I can find these things or if I can get copies of someone elses. Any input / information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Contact SPAAMFAA and/or any buff organizations in your area- they can consult their resources and/or network other organizations to see what they can come up with!!
I dont know if FMC is in business anymore, but you may check with them as well- see if they have anything in their archives

I see you are in Friendswood, I am from West U. You can contact the Houston area prez of SPAAMFAA and get him to help you out. His name is Chuck Bouchardt (sp?). He has a warehouse out at Hobby with all sorts of antique trucks. He should be able to help you out. Email me at firehat87@yahoo.com. I'll be in town next week for Thanksgiving and I can give you a call with a contact if you like.

Thanks for the info. I am just getting involved with SPAAMFAA but not yet a member. I've seen many of Chuck's trucks at various musters... What a collection. SPAAMFAA had 5 trucks in the Houston Thanksgiving day parade today. FMC & Bean are both out of business. FMC's pump parts division in Stephenville TX doesn't carry the old parts any more. I know there are a lot of BEAN trucks out there still in service. Hoping to find some operational manuals, especially for the "Sno-Foam" system.
I'm also trying to find insurance (collectors type) for this old truck. Any info on this would be a great help. American Collectors Ins. in New Jersey wouldn't work with me......

Try Hagerty for insurance. They took my 48 Dodge-FMC with a very low rate for a "rarely" used collector vehicle.

Congrats on the John Bean Pumper, your Bean should be a front line piece very shortly. The fire service goes around in big circles about every 50 years with things such as the smooth bores nozzles (outside attack NEW CONCEPT), day boots and 3/4 length coats, leather helmets, each generation of firefighters try to reinventing the service. (enuff fun)

You may want to try Winns in KY. They can tell you were to get them if they don't have them.
