We've had several sheared lugnuts com off our axles lately. We have Rockwell axles under a 3D pumper. We can't be the only ones with this problem. Anyone else?
thanks

Gentlemen, Everytime you loosen a lug nut you need to put "Antisieze" on those threads. If done you will never have that problem again.

Good Luck

Question Billy Bob, Do you by chance have aluminumwheels? If so there is an Alcoa service bulletin concerning the proper lenght wheel studs.
Unless the wheels are piloted the studs may be to short to accomodate the extra thickness of the wheels. you need longer studs or special wheel nuts. You can goto the Alcoa web site for info.
We did have a problemwith an older rescue truck with steel wheelsnapping studs that was after some brake work. Replaced studs and re-torqued all the others and have not had the problem since.Good idea to always recheck after any brake or tire work.
