for February 28th:
1948: Fire Officers Local #964, AF of L, was formed with Lieutenant Grayson Standiford, T-5, as President - The Fire Board gave approval to the new union on 3/19, just as they had approved the Firefighters Local #734 in 1944 - Prior to the formation of Local #964, when a firefighter was promoted to Lieutenant, he relinquished all union affiliation - Lieutenant Standiford was a prime mover in forming the Officers Union, to be completely autonomous & separate from the Firefighters Local - The only other Officers Union in the nation (as of 1948) is in New York City. (TUH)
1959: 6 Alarms - Box#537 - 501-525 W Conway St - Camden (South Of Downtown) - Fire involved the Wilchrome Manufacturing Company. (CHM1)
1964: Baltimore County: A 4 alarm fire destroyed (5) stores in the 500 block of York Rd, @ Shealey Ave - Ice & snow hampered firefighting efforts - The fire started in the Appliance TV Center @ 520 York Rd @ approximately 2305hrs. (TTFD)

for February 28th:
1948: Fire Officers Local #964, AF of L, was formed with Lieutenant Grayson Standiford, T-5, as President - The Fire Board gave approval to the new union on 3/19, just as they had approved the Firefighters Local #734 in 1944 - Prior to the formation of Local #964, when a firefighter was promoted to Lieutenant, he relinquished all union affiliation - Lieutenant Standiford was a prime mover in forming the Officers Union, to be completely autonomous & separate from the Firefighters Local - The only other Officers Union in the nation (as of 1948) is in New York City. 1959: 6 Alarms - Box#537 - 501-525 W Conway St - Camden (South Of Downtown) - Fire involved the Wilchrome Manufacturing Company. (CHM1)
1964: Baltimore County: A 4 alarm fire destroyed (5) stores in the 500 block of York Rd, @ Shealey Ave - Ice & snow hampered firefighting efforts - The fire started in the Appliance TV Center @ 520 York Rd @ approximately 2305hrs. (TTFD)
