At around 1:20am METCAD (our 911) toned St Joseph (Champaign County, IL) Fire, Ogden Fire, Homer Fire and Sidney Fire to a vehicle fire that spread to an adjacent garage at 508 Lincoln in St. Joe. Engine 143 was first on scene and laid a 5" supply line and pulled off 1-1 3/4" line off and had a quick knock down of the fire which was involving the vehicle and front portion of the garage. Overhaul and ventilation took about 20-30 minutes after initial knockdown. Units responding Engines 143, 144, 191, Rescue 239, Truck 157, Car 140R, Champaign County Sheriff's Office.

Tulsa, OK - Deputy Fire Chief of Operations Allen LaCroix of the Tulsa Fire Department has been appointed Chief of Department by Mayor Susan Savage. Former Fire Chief Tom L. Baker retired and he is now running for a city council seat in Tulsa.
Fayetteville, Ark - Mayor Dan Coody has appointed Chris Bosch as Fire Chief of the Fayetteville, Arkansas Fire Department. Chief Bosch retired as a chief officer in the Fire Marshal's Office of the Kansas City, MO Fire Department. Former Fire Chief Mickey Jackson retired.
Fayetteville, Ark - On Saturday, March 02, 2002 evening around 2030 hours, Fayetteville firefighters were dispatched to a reported house fire at 1458 Cato Springs Road in the southern part of Fayetteville. First unit, Engine 6, on scene reported a single family with fire showing. Firefighters battled the fire with 3 inches of snow on the ground and an outside temp of 13
degrees. From radio reports, firefighters found a meth lab inside the house. Units responded Engine 6, 1, 2, Truck 1, 4, Battalion 1, and Fire Marshal Car 4, Central EMS, and Fayetteville PD.

for March 2nd:
1923: 3 Alarms - Box#8869 - Park Heights & Carroll Aves - Northwest Baltimore - Fire involved the 3 story woodframe Clubhouse @ The Maryland Country Club - The building was burning furiously, when suddenly the roof fell in & (5) firefighters went in with it - Captain Benjamin F. Seipp, E-29, Firefighters John C. Yake & Henry W. Burgess, E-46, Malcolm Jordan C. Campbell & Herbert Lindsay, E-1, were injured - The building was destroyed - Captain Seipp was confined in the hospital for 7 weeks before recovering. (TUH)
1930: 6 Alarms - Box#353 - 0921hrs - Smoke was noticed billowing from the 3 story brick warehouse of Ditch, Bowers, & Taylor Auto Supply Company, North & Mount Royal Aves, Mount Royal (Northwest Of Downtown), which adjoined the quarters of T-11 - In the next 17 minutes 6 alarms were sounded as the building burned furiously from top to bottom - Shortly before noon, the high cupola blazed up & fell from the roofedge onto E-28, which was working @ the hydrant directly below - Scores of frostbite cases among the firefighters were treated in the 15 degree, all day battle. (TUH)
1940: 8 Alarms - 6-6-14-718 & 2-2-2423 - 0940hrs - Fallsway, Monument, Holliday, & Centre Sts - North Of Downtown - Fire involved the Baltimore Lumber Company - A stiff cold wind was blowing & the square block 1 story woodframe building was fully involved - Freight cars, trailer trucks, & park automobiles were blazing & DC-4, Clarence W. Smith sounded the 4th alarm @ once - E-6 laid out the 1st hose line & when Captain Charles Schreiber looked back, the engine had caught fire - He played the hose stream on it & ordered it moved to safety, getting burned about the face & hands himself - Fire was everywhere & @ times it looked as if the street was burning - The Norris Grain Elevator, located across the Fallsway @ Monument St, started to smoulder & Chief Engineer Howard Travers sounded the 2nd alarm (8th alarm) from adjacent Box#2423 @ 1005hrs - Although the temperature was just above freezing, the heat from the blaze was searing & many firefighters & spectators were blistered - It was a masterful show of firefighting performed as the firefighters contained the inferno to the (1) huge former Pennsylvania Railroad shed which was filled with 3.5 million feet of seasoned lumber, (10) freight cars, (5) tractor trailers, & (7) automobiles parked @ the curbside - A tremendous overhauling job faced the firefighters on a 24 hour long day, although @ 1800hrs, the officers changed shifts, while the firefighters prepared for an all night vigil, obtaining food & beverages as best they could - As darkness settled over the area, Chief Engineer Travers & DC-2, John F. Steadman, were inspecting around the firegrounds & observed (2) firefighters skylarking atop a burned out box car, putting on a show for the spectators, who were urging them on - Another firefighter was lying on a ladder truck, semi-conscious - DC Steadman ordered them taken to the Department Infirmary to be examined by a doctor - Afterwards, the (3) firefighters were charged with being in an unfit condition for duty. At around 1:20am METCAD (our 911) toned St Joseph (Champaign County, IL) Fire, Ogden Fire, Homer Fire and Sidney Fire to a vehicle fire that spread to an adjacent garage at 508 Lincoln in St. Joe. Engine 143 was first on scene and laid a 5" supply line and pulled off 1-1 3/4" line off and had a quick knock down of the fire which was involving the vehicle and front portion of the garage. Overhaul and ventilation took about 20-30 minutes after initial knockdown. Units responding Engines 143, 144, 191, Rescue 239, Truck 157, Car 140R, Champaign County Sheriff's Office.

Tulsa, OK - Deputy Fire Chief of Operations Allen LaCroix of the Tulsa Fire Department has been appointed Chief of Department by Mayor Susan Savage. Former Fire Chief Tom L. Baker retired and he is now running for a city council seat in Tulsa.
Fayetteville, Ark - Mayor Dan Coody has appointed Chris Bosch as Fire Chief of the Fayetteville, Arkansas Fire Department. Chief Bosch retired as a chief officer in the Fire Marshal's Office of the Kansas City, MO Fire Department. Former Fire Chief Mickey Jackson retired.
Fayetteville, Ark - On Saturday, March 02, 2002 evening around 2030 hours, Fayetteville firefighters were dispatched to a reported house fire at 1458 Cato Springs Road in the southern part of Fayetteville. First unit, Engine 6, on scene reported a single family with fire showing. Firefighters battled the fire with 3 inches of snow on the ground and an outside temp of 13
degrees. From radio reports, firefighters found a meth lab inside the house. Units responded Engine 6, 1, 2, Truck 1, 4, Battalion 1, and Fire Marshal Car 4, Central EMS, and Fayetteville PD.

for March 2nd:
1923: 3 Alarms - Box#8869 - Park Heights & Carroll Aves - Northwest Baltimore - Fire involved the 3 story woodframe Clubhouse @ The Maryland Country Club - The building was burning furiously, when suddenly the roof fell in & (5) firefighters went in with it - Captain Benjamin F. Seipp, E-29, Firefighters John C. Yake & Henry W. Burgess, E-46, Malcolm Jordan C. Campbell & Herbert Lindsay, E-1, were injured - The building was destroyed - Captain Seipp was confined in the hospital for 7 weeks before recovering. (TUH)
1930: 6 Alarms - Box#353 - 0921hrs - Smoke was noticed billowing from the 3 story brick warehouse of Ditch, Bowers, & Taylor Auto Supply Company, North & Mount Royal Aves, Mount Royal (Northwest Of Downtown), which adjoined the quarters of T-11 - In the next 17 minutes 6 alarms were sounded as the building burned furiously from top to bottom - Shortly before noon, the high cupola blazed up & fell from the roofedge onto E-28, which was working @ the hydrant directly below - Scores of frostbite cases among the firefighters were treated in the 15 degree, all day battle. 1940: 8 Alarms - 6-6-14-718 & 2-2-2423 - 0940hrs - Fallsway, Monument, Holliday, & Centre Sts - North Of Downtown - Fire involved the Baltimore Lumber Company - A stiff cold wind was blowing & the square block 1 story woodframe building was fully involved - Freight cars, trailer trucks, & park automobiles were blazing & DC-4, Clarence W. Smith sounded the 4th alarm @ once - E-6 laid out the 1st hose line & when Captain Charles Schreiber looked back, the engine had caught fire - He played the hose stream on it & ordered it moved to safety, getting burned about the face & hands himself - Fire was everywhere & @ times it looked as if the street was burning - The Norris Grain Elevator, located across the Fallsway @ Monument St, started to smoulder & Chief Engineer Howard Travers sounded the 2nd alarm (8th alarm) from adjacent Box#2423 @ 1005hrs - Although the temperature was just above freezing, the heat from the blaze was searing & many firefighters & spectators were blistered - It was a masterful show of firefighting performed as the firefighters contained the inferno to the (1) huge former Pennsylvania Railroad shed which was filled with 3.5 million feet of seasoned lumber, (10) freight cars, (5) tractor trailers, & (7) automobiles parked @ the curbside - A tremendous overhauling job faced the firefighters on a 24 hour long day, although @ 1800hrs, the officers changed shifts, while the firefighters prepared for an all night vigil, obtaining food & beverages as best they could - As darkness settled over the area, Chief Engineer Travers & DC-2, John F. Steadman, were inspecting around the firegrounds & observed (2) firefighters skylarking atop a burned out box car, putting on a show for the spectators, who were urging them on - Another firefighter was lying on a ladder truck, semi-conscious - DC Steadman ordered them taken to the Department Infirmary to be examined by a doctor - Afterwards, the (3) firefighters were charged with being in an unfit condition for duty.
