Who is using the Air Knife? Any experience with the vacuum attachment?

The air knife is amazing. We have been runing tests with the air knife as well as several vacume systems and it looks very promising.
The knife has done everything promised. The vac systems we have tried are the air powered vac, the vactron system and the large sewer suckers that many municipalities own.
The air vac works OK and is safe around the pt. The sewer sucker moves a huge amount if dirt but can hurt or kill a pt if used improperly, and the unit from vactron is in the middle. Still need to test it more. Our area is mostly hard clay and the air knife is a great tool for speeding up a rescue. It does a great job of pulverizing the clay so it can be sucked out or just dug up easier.

We use the air knife too. I love it! We also have clay and it really loosens it up and makes it much easier to move.
As for vacuum power - we have used the municipal trucks - but that has to be evaluated on a case by case basis since they are so big & heavy. They certainly make life easier than hauling 5 gal. buckets out of a trench manually - but it depends on the stability of your situation.

I have been impressed with the performance of the air knife, also in clay. Haven't had the opportunity to use a vacuum truck yet.

Our area has been doing extensive work with Vactor, The sewer truck sucker, and it is very promising.
They, Vactor, have developed a safety tip and a safety shut off that makes the dirt evacuation safe and very quick. In Illinois the truck and it's use is being put into the trench tech class, which should be out soon.
