Camp Blaze

I was just wondering if anyone here has attended in the past, or is going this year, to Camp Blaze. I will be going this year and I was wondering if anyone else that 's on these forums will be going. :D

I hate to sound like I'm outta the loop, but what is Camp Blaze? I've never heard of it before.

With all of the visits to the post and no replies I figured no one really knew. hmm. Anyways, Blaze is a firefighting camp that is for women. We will be doing things like live fire training, extinguisher handling, rappeling, and all of that fun stuff for a week and then graduate in the end like a mini academy. It's going to be in San Francisco in July. It's mostly to give women who plan on becoming firefighters a real look into what firefighting is all about. I was just wondering if anyone had attended before or if anyone knew anything about it. I did not know about it either until I was playing around in the firehouse links and saw it. It is kinda strange that nobody has heard about it before. Oh well. :confused:

Wow, that sounds like a great idea. I wish that we had something like that here in Florida. I remember when I was in high school and thinking that Firefighting sounded like the perfect job for me. Unfortunately, I thought only men did a job like that. Two of the guys I graduated with are now on the Lt's list, and I'm just now getting ready for the engineer's exam!! A lot of wasted time.

Wow!! That sounds really cool. Too bad I live in Indy and have no money! :( Sigh...oh well. Be sure and tell us how it went!!!!
