With the approval of the 150 million more, does FEMA have to rethink the Dear John Letters... I would think so, if they have the first batch ready, they better think twice before sending them out. This should slow down the process a little so they can award the extra 2000 Grants....... Does anybody disagree with me??? Any thoughts??

I would assume that the 10,300 applications that didn't make it pass the peer review will be notified first. 9,200 applications made it through the peer review. Even with the additional funding FEMA est. that only 7,000 can be funded. That leaves around 2,200 depts. that will not hear anything till the very end of this:(

John is correct. The first 7,500 or so letters will go out in the next week or so (See story on home page). Most of those presumably are from the large lot that didn't make the peer review. Even still, it will be months before Departments know for sure either way. If you don't get a letter, its probably best to just be patient ... its not going to be a quick process. FEMA hopes to have all the grants out by December, at least $150M needs to be distributed by September 30.
