Who can suggest a high quality mine rescue training program? Where is it, who runs it, how much does it cost? Is there a program that orients rescuers into an actual mine? Lets hear from all interested.

Can't help you on this quest--but many, many moons ago when I was young, 10ft tall and bulletproof(and knew it all after six months in the job!!) I visited a pal up in Heanor,Darbyshire--he was a maintenance engineer for the local mine. I was introduced to the local Mine Rescue Team---it was very apparent that these guys are a breed apart. They are the "Special forces of the Emergency Services" Not only do I take my hat off to these men--but every other piece of apparel, too!

There is a lot of mine safety and rescue information at the Mine Safety and Health Administration web site, www.msha.gov.
