grant notification

I see other people have their departments names on the latest grant notification list, but haven't been contacted. Such is the case with our department. What's the longest anyone's waited after seeing your department on the list, and FEMA actually contacting you?

I let you know! An alert FH.com member send me an email saying congrats on the grant this morning. I hadn't even looked because I thought the press release was coming out this evening! We haven't received the "official" notification yet.

No word from elected official. No messages on the box. No mysterious number on my caller ID. No letter. No email.

But we're on the press release!

Tried to get in and look at the application again, but I forgot my username and password.

In our case the public announcement was July 22nd, the official word did not come until Aug 1.

I believe it is posted somewhere or I read it here that the official FEMA announcement is done on the 1st and 15th of each month.

Just to let you all know, your email from FEMA will direct you to print your award package from the website.

The award package does explain that the online request for funds will not be available until September and that it will take 3 to 4 weeks to process your request once you submit it.

I'll also let you know that there are government regulations which state you must expedite the payment of funds once you recieve them, meaning in government speak, you can't get the money and let it collect a little interest in your account.
