Dry Suits

We are looking at getting new dry suits for our dive team.

I would like to get comments, good or bad, on various dry suits used by other departments.

Try either Viking, which has done considerable testing in different chemicals, or White's Suits or Gate's. Those 3 make suits designed for public safety. Just don't get a nylon tri lam. useless in public safety since you can't decon them.

We use Gates and they are nice. Many of the towns in our division have Viking and they seem equally nice.
Two towns have Dacor Xtreme, they are very bright orange wich seems to be nice during downed diver drills, but I have my doubts about decon for real bad stuff. They are a little more comfortable then the other suits.

I also use & know many people with the Gates suits. I am happy with mine, plus like the features as pointed out by the previous 2 posts.

The suit my F.D Dive Team uses are Typhoon.The wrist seals
have ring locks for easy replacement(about 1 min.),neck seal
is also easily replaced.Entry is from the front.Very durable.

Our department, Indian River County Fire Rescue (FL) started with DUI suits, then switched to Viking. The Viking suits have held up extremely well and I ended up buying one for myself.
