The agency says many positions are now being advertised,

Applicants for fire jobs also must have a valid driver's

Send an e-mail to the agency that you applied to, or are considering applying to....and pose the question. :D

i got my contract very easily on that via the BIA a few miles from here and my contract is on a yearly basis. It involves ALOT of travelling to different states and "laying over" weeks on end but the job is well worth it but also be advised that you will need your own trucks that is fully registered and insured complete with the proper fire equipment, personell that has had at least 32 hours of wildland fire training(red carded) and also you will need your own crew and they also must be red carded.Liability insurance is also on you and the requirement is a 1 million dollar policy but you can get those thru several fire insurance agencies for a little of nothing depending on the company you go thru. All accomodations meaning hotels, fuel, etc comes out of your own pocket till you are paid but you must wait a period of 60-90 days for your check to arrive and the fire that you was on must be completely out before funds are released.
The accomodations you paid for are reimbursed in your paycheck.
