What's the best boot for a firefighter/EMT? *duty boot, wise* And why?

for city firefighting, i use chippewa's, but for wildland firefighting, i use whites

for station boots I bought a pair of Rocky 911 boots, my last pair lasted about 2 years and were really comfortable.

I agree, the Rocky's seem to be the best that I have used so far. Gore tex/Thinsulate works well for all the seasons, they do get a little warm in the summer though. If you want a pair that you can slip off easily add the zipper that goes over the tounge. Avoid pairs that have the side zipper, they tend to leak. Rocky's sole seems pretty good traction wise.

I have a pair of Bates that look like a jungle boot, but the soles are like a sneaker. Awesome for the days you are stuck on your feet all day!:D
