Hey everyone, i just got certified in S130 and S190, i applied to the BLM and the Forest service. I emailed them wondering how long the turn around time is for finding out when i was hired. well the BLM said each individual place that i applied which was seven different geograpical areas is who does the hiring. well i have no idea how to contact those areas or even where to begin to look. if you guys could give me some ideas or about how long it will take to find out i would really appreciate it. and how they go about

thanks

You can start here. BLM Directory (http://www.fire.blm.gov/director.htm#Alaska%20Fire%20S ervice%20(Fairbanks,%20AK))

Scroll to the bottom of the page and find the area which you applied to.

As for the Forest Service, try the USFS Contact Page (http://www.fs.fed.us/fire/people/contacts/)

Obviously, you need to contact the local office which is considering your application.

Good Luck...Stay Safe!;)

go to the website www.usajobs.opm.gov and do a quick search for "fire". It will bring up a list of all current openings in the federal service. Many of these are wildland positions. If you want to get real specific, do a search for job series 0462 forestry/range technician. I believe they even have an online resume builder. You can apply online for most of these positions. It is then just a matter of waiting for them to give you a call and arrange the details if they pick you up.

Good luck!
