I am currenty an EMT student in PA. I would like to secure a local job, but I am afraid no one will hire me due to my age. (I am under 18) I would have to run as a 3rd person to a crew. Crews dont need 3 people and that could be a money issue for a squad. What is the likelihood of me being hired? Will I have to resort to a volutneer position?

In Michigan, one of our ambulance companies will hire if you're underage, but you must have your high school diploma. If you're looking to be fire, however, you're required to be 18.

Up here in Canada, you have to be 19, and have completed the high school diploma, and the firefighter level one and two. That could be different in the states though!
