Does your technical rescue team have a special name? Do you use acronyms for your team?

Example: TRT (techincal recue team)

Our team name is SMART. Specialized Multi-Agency Rescue Team.

the suburbs of chicago have a tech resq mutual aid society. called C.A.R.T. Combined Agency Response Team. the state of IL is starting a M.A.B.A.S. MUTUAL AID BOX ALARM SYSTEM for tech and hazmat.

Can you tell me alitte about NY reg response 1. I am in Suffolf County and they are talking about starting a Regional response team here. What kind of training is provide and who gives it? How many guys on the team? How many dept.?

How about Special Hazards Intervention Team. The acronym actually describes what thet deal with.

NBTRT: Northern Brookhaven Technical Rescue Team.

The team is in Brookhaven Township in Suffolk NY. The team is made of multiple departments in the area.

We are changing ours to SHOT--Special Hazards Operations Team
But I like the S.H.I.T Team name much more appropriate

Seminole County Florida our Special Hazards and operations team is called "SHOT".
I too like the S.H.I.T. name.

Here in downtown Maryland, (Prince Georges County) We call it TRACS for Technical Rescue And Confined Space. This Team does everything except Hazmat and Bombs, although the HazMat Team and Bomb Squad has many of the same people that are Tracs Team members. Since this is a combination Department, The teams are made up of both Career and Volunteer members. One of our recent training events is posted on this page. Stay Safe....
